Project Management Trainings

The Talent Pass project ran the first round of its Project Management training topic from 14 to 23 April 2026, across four modules of two days each, delivered online and in hybrid format with the on-site sessions held at UNISMART in Padova, Italy. The topic was chosen on the evidence of a training needs analysis completed by 234 staff members at the project's widening partners, which identified project management and digital skills as the two priority areas and a preference for short, hybrid, active sessions. The trainers came from OpenCom, Unismart and Crowdhelix.

14 and 16 April 2026 | Introduction to Project Management

Lorenzo Liguoro led the session on the fundamentals of project and research management in the context of competitive funding, such as Horizon Europe and various national and regional programs. His training covered the project life cycle, roles and responsibilities, and basic planning tools, including work breakdown structures, Gantt charts, and risk logs, as well as alignment with institutional research strategies. This training was attended by 71 participants.

15 and 17 April 2026 | Pre-award

Burçak Çullu, Crowdhelix guided 67 participants through a session on call reading and topic scoping within Horizon Europe. The discussion covered funding instruments for circular economy projects and explored the key components of the excellence, impact, and implementation sections. 20 and 21 April 2026 | Transversal Topics in Research Management

Erina Guraziu, OpenCom focused on research ethics and integrity, gender equality, and the management of FAIR and GDPR data. She dedicated a second day to discussing AI in research and project management, which included workshops on AI-assisted drafting and planning. Her module received the most positive feedback of the session, attracting 65 participants.

22 and 23 April 2026 | Post-award

Ivan Brkićguided 65 participants online in preparing grant agreements, financial management, monitoring and audits, risk management, intellectual property rights, communication and dissemination, PRAG rules, and the use of Agile methodology in EU project management.

Building on the First Training Round

Feedback was gathered after each module through an anonymous survey and shared with all partners to inform improvements for the next round. Participants who completed all modules of a topic received a certificate of participation.
